How this site is made.

For people who look at the details.

Typefaces, colours, photos and tools, with their licences.

The name

The name.

In Japanese sumi means ink, the kind ground on a stone before writing; post is mail. The logo is just the name, set in Inter Tight in shu red: no symbol beside it.

The system.

The design is Ardesia Web, the website's system. It's the sibling of Ardesia, the app's system: same colours with the same names, same typefaces, same shapes. The volume changes: the website speaks up, the app speaks softly.

The details.

For people who look closely. Press G and the grid the site is laid out on appears: the margins, the ruler column, twelve columns and the 8-pixel step. The rulers under the headings measure the cursor, the red full stop falls like a drop, the word at the bottom of the page gains weight where you pass. Click a colour below to copy it.

Colours

Three colours have a job.

  • --shu

    Acts

The brand's red colours the one main action of a section.

  • --ardesia

    Chooses

Marks what is selected: the chosen brand, the view, the segment.

  • --limone

    Says where you are

The open page in the menu, the lit notch on the ruler.

Each colour has two values: on the left Night, the site's home theme; on the right Paper, the theme of the light sections. The same 27 colours, with the same names, are the app's.

Photos

The photos are AI-generated.

The photos on this site are generated with artificial intelligence, using the image tool in OpenAI's Codex, on 2 November 2026, from directions we wrote: paper and ink, indigo paper flowers, black and white portraits. The portraits are roles, not people on our team, and they don't exist. We choose, discard and crop them by hand, and we say so next to each one (Art. 50 of the AI Act). No puppets, no mascots.

The photos of the sample brands (Fumaria, Studio Lume, Cantina Vespri, Brezza) are made with the same tool: people and places that don't exist. The three photos of Fumaria, an artisan perfumery we invented, are from 2 November 2026. The screens, on the other hand, come from the real app.
